The Hurricanes may have Jonah Lomu and Filo Tiatia back for Saturday night's first home game of the Super 12 against the Bulls.
Team Manager Tony Bedford says Lomu and Tiatia came through their latest training okay and will have another testing run tonight before a final decision is made on their availability.
But Bedford says openside Flanker Kupu Vanisi is still struggling with a knee injury after it was trampled on during the loss to the Reds last weekend.
