Good news for cinephiles, bad news for cinephiles wallets ... The New Zealand International Film Festival (NZIFF) has announced that it will be premiering 30 movies from the recent Cannes Film Festival.
Screening during the festival are big-hitters like Palme d'Or winner Shoplifters, Jury Prize winner Caphernaum and Best Screenplay winners (tied) 3 Faces and Happy As Lazzaro.
But that's not all.
TimeOut and the NZIFF are also pleased to reveal that we'll be presenting the "spectacularly original" film Birds of Passage.
This movie that delves into Colombia's 1970's drug economy, and will open the Auckland leg of the NZIFF on Thursday, July 19.
