New Zealand's power couples revealed

They're successful in their own right but together, they're even better. Spy.co.nz has revealed New Zealand's most powerful couples.

Leading the pack are two of the country's most successful sports stars, rugby hero Richie McCaw and Black Sticks player Gemma Flynn.

Flynn was by McCaw's side as he led the All Blacks to World Cup glory and next year, the roles will be reversed, as McCaw supports Flynn and her Black Sticks teammates in their bid for Olympic gold in Rio.

Business titans Tenby Powell and Sharon Hunter also made the list, with rumours building that either one may enter the Auckland mayoralty race.

TV3 journalists Paula Penfold and Mike McRoberts also make a formidable pair, as does their colleague Heather du Plessis-Allan and her political editor husband Barry Soper.

Hollywood producer Rob Tapert and his on screen queen Lucy Lawless also feature, alongside fashion royalty, Zambesi founder Liz and Neville Findlay.
