There has been a shake-up behind the scenes of Seven Sharp.
Executive producer Pete Cronshaw and supervising producer Jonathan Williams are both moving on, two years after they successfully relaunched the show, fronted by Toni Street and Mike Hosking.
Cronshaw and Williams were part of the dream team that turned around the show's fortunes after its less-than-successful launch in 2013 with Ali Mau, Greg Boyed and Jesse Mulligan as hosts.
In a classic case of TVNZ musical chairs, former Breakfast executive producer Ant Stevens will take the reins at Seven Sharp, reuniting with Street.
The pair have worked together throughout their careers, first in the sports department then on Saturday Breakfast and Breakfast.
Most recently, Stevens was overseeing Fair Go. The show is now looking for a new executive producer. The role has been advertised externally and TVNZ insiders are expecting applications from MediaWorks staff desperate to jump ship.
TVNZ confirmed the furniture shuffle and said Stevens was excited about working on Seven Sharp. Cronshaw is returning to be in front of the camera, rejoining the Sunday team as a reporter. Williams has accepted a new role as the supervising producer of One News' weekend Bulletins.
