When the final scores were announced, Dan and Steph broke down.
"This is the start of our dreams, honestly, this is a dream come true," Dan, 32, said immediately after winning on Sunday night's show.
"We can start a family now.
"Tonight without a doubt has been the best night of our lives . . . without a doubt."
Steph said their lives would never the be the same.
"Our life and our future has totally changed from this moment," the 30-year-old said.
Jake, 20, and Elle, 22, showed cooking prowess well beyond their years and beat much more seasoned teams to make the grand final.
They have plans to open a supper club in Brisbane's CBD, release a cookbook and market Elle's special flavoured ice creams.
Elle said, even though they were second, they were proud to reach the final cook-off.
"It's such an achievement. We're the youngest team, but we've made it so far," Elle said during Sunday night's show.
