LOS ANGELES - Actress Minnie Driver, who stars as the matriarch in a family of itinerant grifters on the US television show The Riches has revealed she is pregnant with her first child.
The British actress was a guest on NBC's late-night talk show The Tonight Show with
Jay Leno, and when Leno asked her if she is expecting a baby, Driver answered "yes."
"I love it more than anything else, but I am sick," Driver said. "I don't know why they call it morning sickness. I am sick morning, noon and night."
Driver, 38, did not say who the father was. Leno asked if he might know the man, but she said she did not think so.
"I figure, I'm the public person, and he can stay private," Driver said.
Driver first gained fame in the 1990s on British television, and later acted in Hollywood movies such as Grosse Pointe Blank and Return to Me. She earned an Oscar nomination for her 1997 supporting role in Good Will Hunting opposite Matt Damon, whom she once dated.
She later was engaged for several months to actor Josh Brolin.
The Riches, which airs on cable TV channel FX, follows a family of con artists that tries to go straight by posing as a suburban family whose identity they assume. Driver earned an Emmy nomination last year for her role as the mother of the clan, Dahlia Malloy, opposite series star Eddie Izzard.
