It's long been one of her trademark features, but Lorde has ditched her mane of long, wild curls in favour of a shorter, sleeker look.
The 18-year-old unveiled her new look at the Vogue Fashion Fund Awards in New York, posing alongside fashion power players Diane von Furstenberg and RiccardoTisci, among others.
The Magnets singer was clearly in a playful mood as she took selfies with actress Amanda Seyfried and poked her tongue out for photographers.
Lorde looked stylish and confident with her new do, which she paired with a black lace-trimmed dress over satin trousers.
But she was quick to switch back into comfort mode post-event, sharing this photo on Instagram, with the caption: "... as soon as the party finished I combed my fingers through my hair, threw on my boiler suit and yeezys."
Lorde travelled to New York early on Sunday morning, missing the Rugby World Cup final between New Zealand and Australia.
Her mum Sonja Yelich showed her national pride, traveling in an All Blacks jersey with her superstar daughter.
