It's official: The Today Show is trolling after an article called out Lisa Wilkinson for outfit-repeating.
This morning, Wilkinson was the first to sensationally hit back after being called out for her fashion choices.
The TV presenter was the subject of a Daily Mail story yesterday which pointed out she had worn the same floral shirt twice in four months and her response was perfect:
Yep, that's a picture of Wilkinson this morning. And that's the floral shirt again.
Nine presenter David Campbell piled on during Today Extra, appearing on-screen today in the exact same shirt.
Campbell pressed on with his 'Dear David' advice segment without mentioning his choice of women's clothing, although he and co-host Sonia Kruger could barely contain their giggles.
Shortly afterwards, Kruger also decided to take the famous shirt for a spin.
It was clear Wilkinson, 57, was irritated by the story last night when she took to Instagram with a very pointed message.
Alongside a screenshot of the headline, she wrote: "I am soooo busted! Seems I've been seen hosting a breakfast TV show in the same blouse 'with a strategic cutout above the bust' just four months apart. Like, personally, I'd sack me! #disgracefulhussy #shame #allhellhasbrokenloose #someonegetmeajacket."
The wardrobe scrutiny applied to Wilkinson is in stark contrast to what her co-host Karl Stefanovic deals with.
Remember in 2014 when he wore the same suit every day for a year - and no one noticed?
Stefanovic made international headlines when he revealed the truth and explained he'd started the protest in support of Wilkinson after viewers criticised her outfits. Reflecting on the constant judgment and double standards his female counterparts face daily, the prankster said he set out to "to make a point".
"I've worn the same suit on air for a year - except for a couple of times because of circumstance - to make a point," Stefanovic told Fairfax Media at the time. "Women are judged much more harshly and keenly for what they do, what they say and what they wear."
