Jennifer Lawrence's Valentine's date with Aziz Ansari

Single actress Jennifer Lawrence spent Valentine's Day catching up with her pal Aziz Ansari during a low-key dinner date in New York City.

The Hunger Games star, who previously dated actor Nicholas Hoult and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, refused to let her single status get her down on the most romantic day of the year, and instead headed to the Commodore bar in Brooklyn with Aziz.

Onlookers reveal the pair sat at one corner and shared a bottle of wine while tucking into dishes including mac 'n' cheese, nachos, and the eatery's famous fried chicken.

"They looked friendly and were showing each other stuff on their iPhones and chatting and laughing," a source tells People.com. "They tried lots of different food and looked like they had a lot of fun. They looked like really good friends."

At one point during the meal, Lawrence even asked the bartender to take a photo of the two friends on her mobile phone, according to the publication.

Aziz, 32, must have welcomed the 25-year-old movie star's company as Sunday marked his first Valentine's Day following his split from famed New York pastry chef Courtney McBroom. The couple parted ways at the end of 2015 after two years of dating.

Meanwhile, Lawrence has been single since ending her romance with Martin last year after dating on and off for a year.

She previously opened up about her love life with Vogue, and appeared to suggest she was struggling to find dates after her break-up.

"I am lonely every Saturday night," she told the publication. "Guys are so mean to me. I feel like I need to meet a guy, with all due respect, who has been living in Baghdad for five years who has no idea who I am."
