The Sundance Film Festival is unveiling Peter Jackson's documentary on the West Memphis Three this weekend.
Directed by Amy Berg, West of Memphis examines the controversial conviction and subsequent release after 18 years of three America teenagers for the murders of three eight-year-old boys.
Jackson and Fran Welsh
helped fund the investigation that led to Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelly being freed from an Arkansas jail last August under an Alford plea, which let the men plead guilty and go free, but give up their right for compensation.
AAP reported West of Memphis, a documentary which follows both the victims' families and supporters of the three, would screen at the Sundance Festival this Saturday afternoon (NZ time).
Jackson and Welsh produced the film, along with Echols, who recently visited Jackson while he shot The Hobbit in Queenstown.
