Could a Kiwi birthday party get anymore Kiwi than this?
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, her partner Clarke Gayford and former Prime Minister Helen Clark crashed the Topp Twins' stage to help them celebrate their 60th birthday.
The Kiwi crew made the very special appearance during the Topp Twins' show atthe Hackney Empire in London's East End on Saturday.
They exchanged hugs and PM Ardern told the audience: "I came to set the record straight...the Topp Twins said that they felt lucky to have come from New Zealand, but it's actually New Zealand who is lucky to have you".
She shared a personal story about growing up with the Topp Twins and said: "On behalf of New Zealand I thank you both" before leading the entire crowd in singing Happy Birthday, while Clarke Gayford presented a birthday cake.
In return, the Topp Twins made a special "thank you" shout out on their Facebook page, writing: "Big thanks to everyone who came to the show in London and thanks to Helen Jacinda and Clarke for the Birthday cake. We had a ball."
The Kiwi meet up also delighted fans who took to social media to comment on the occasion:
This is the most riotous 60th birthday I've been to- the @ToppTwins are on great form. Good advice too: "the country that yodels together stays together" pic.twitter.com/hf5CC6bccL
Feeling v proud to be a New Zealander after a fab night @ToppTwins in Hackney with @HelenClarkNZ & @jacindaardern. Such eloquent & confident but humble people. A celebration of women but not excluding or at the expense of men. Haven’t felt so much joy and hope in a while.
