KEY POINTS:
Cut off from friends and without a job, Kate Middleton has been dubbed "Waity Kaity" by the British media, apparently spending her days idly waiting for Prince William to propose.
This week's Woman's Day reports the 26-year-old has not seen her Prince Charming since a one-night-only meeting over
the New Year period, following a Christmas spent apart.
The Prince has thrown himself into his military training with the Royal Air Force, leaving Kate feeling isolated and lonely, the magazine says.
To add insult to injury, William turned to former flame Jecca Craig for comfort while dealing with the painful inquest into his mother's death.
And Kate has shut out the old friends she had before she met William, leaving her with nobody to turn to.
"No one from Kate's pre-William life ever sees her any more," revealed one of Kate's close friends from before her university days.
"It's sad, because she's great company and she was a very good friend. I think her old friends do understand, because if she becomes the Queen of England then she has got to play her cards close to her chest."
Since giving up her job as an accessory buyer for clothing chain Jigsaw, Kate has been trawling the internet for the perfect house to live in after she marries William.
But - as the magazine helpfully points out - before Kate can start making wedding and post-wedding plans, she needs the proposal that has so far eluded her.
Woman's Weekly this week devotes its cover and four whole pages to Kiwi designer Trelise Copper turning 50.
Despite having 49 years to prepare, Trelise says turning 50 still came as something of a shock.
She believes a person's looks - and life - can be much improved with an upbeat outlook.
"I truly believe that it is about your attitude. They say you wake up at 50 with the face you deserve and I think 'they' are probably right."
Trelise is also a great believer in a little bit of glamour going a very long way.
"It's not frivolous to make an effort to look good. Even my dog loved herself much more when she came back from the groomer, and there is something in that. Truly, there is."
So how does Trelise maintain her own youthful vibrancy? Apparently she balances her hectic schedule of international travel, design work, business meetings, charity commitments and family duties with weekends at the family beach house, where she catches up on sleep and indulges her passion for cooking.

The sassy dancer sometimes suffers from a crippling back pain as the result of scoliosis going undetected until her late teens.
