Guardians of the Galaxy sure is funny but don't let the humour fool you - it has been deemed the deadliest film of all time.
According to a new study it has been found that the Marvel film has more on-screen casualties than any other film in cinema history. 83,761to be exact (80,000 of these are unnamed Nova Corp pilots).
The film's director James Gunn tweeted about the honour, writing: "So I guess #GotG is now the deadliest film in movie history. By, like, a lot. Um, yay?"

Guardians of the Galaxy isn't the only Marvel film to make an appearance in the study, with The Avengers slotting into the number 10 position with 1019.
Our very own Peter Jackson has three films featured in the top 10 including: The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.
The results were compiled by GoCompare who decided to find out which films have notched up the most fatalities since the 1940s.
