Former Newstalk ZB host Justin du Fresne dies

Justin du Fresne has passed away after a battle with cancer.

Long-time Newstalk ZB broadcaster Justin du Fresne has died after a short battle with cancer.

He began his career as host of the pioneer Sunset Show on Radio New Zealand in 1963.

Justin de Fresne was best known in recent times for the Newstalk ZB morning show based in Wellington.

He officially hung up his headphones in 2013, aged 72, after more than 50 years on air.

He died at his home on the Kapiti Coast in the early hours of this morning surrounded by family and friends.
