The Gorillaz have returned with what seems to be a strong sixth album.
British band Gorillaz have quickly backed up their successful 2017 effort, Humanz with The Now Now due out this Friday.
Despite the quick turnaround, early reviews suggest that it hasn't affected the production of the project.
In several early reviews, the Damon Albarn collective's sixth album was well received.
"It'squite easy to lose sight of the fact that The Now Now was rushed out, recorded in February in time for festival season, as it sounds typically expansive and self-assured," says Clash Magazine's Wilf Skinner.
The band has already teased what is to come on the new album with the release of five songs from The Now Now, the first of which Humility, included the talents of acclaimed jazz guitarist George Benson.
The new release has a much lighter feel than anything featured on their Humanz album.
"His new collaboration with legendary jazz guitarist George Benson, has more spring in its step than anything off of last year's Humanz," says Pitchfork's Jayson Greene.
The band has also released another four songs from the album, with the track Hollywood features the rap artist, Snoop Dog.
