Troubled pop Princess Britney Spears is locked in a bitter war of words with her mother, according to reports.
Celebrity news website TMZ.com claimed the rift between Britney and Lynne had got to the stage where Britney allegedly instructed lawyers to bar her mother from seeing her children.
Paparazzi snapped Britney handing her mother a piece of paper last week - a paper that TMZ.com claimed instructed Kathy to stay away from Spears' sons Sean Preston, 1, and Jayden James, 9 months, if she is taking any medications that might cause her to be impaired.
But despite the acrimony, mother Lynne is said to be holding out hope that the pair can mend the escalating rift.
"Everything is going to be fine," she told People magazine while spotted shopping in Kentwood, La. "I've got a strong family, and everything is going to be fine."
The motivation behind the rift is said to have left Lynne "brokenhearted," a close family friends told People magazine last week.
Sources maintain that Britney is angry with her family for being involved in getting her into rehab.
