Britney Spears’ estranged husband Sam Asghari has broken his silence after the Toxic singer dubbed him “a gift from God” in her bombshell memoir The Woman In Me - which was written prior to their split.
Spears, 41, and the aspiring actor, 29, dated for sevenyears and were married for just over a year before parting ways in August 2023 - which is why fans are shocked that the singer has shared such kind words about her former beau, reports Daily Mail.
On Thursday, Asghari reflected on his ex’s comments, saying: “That made me smile to be honest, I am freaking proud of her and I hope she takes over the world.”
Asghari filed for divorce citing “irreconcilable differences” - however in her book, Spears seemed to gush about her former partner.
“I have an appreciation for how stable he is. I love that he doesn’t even drink,” she wrote of Asghari, who she first met while filming her music video for her hit track, Slumber Party in October 2016.
In her open court hearing in June 2021, Spears said Asghari “squeezed” her hand to show his support.
“I look up to him — his consistency with working out and being a good man and being healthy and taking care of me and helping me learn how we can take care of each other,” she shared. “He’s such an inspiration and I’m grateful.”
Insiders told Page Six that Spears had already submitted the final manuscript for her memoir prior to their breakup.

When asked if he was worried about the book being released, Asghari told TMZ thathe wasn’t and had “already read it”.
“I’m very proud of her and, you know, she put a lot of work to it, and it was very hard so I’m definitely excited and I’m extremely proud of her.”
Talking about the Gimme More singer writing the book, he said that, “It was a tough one,” while adding, “I’ll be the first one in line to buy it.”
Spears’ father, Jamie Spears, however, reportedly feels a different way about the autobiography.
