She’s foul-mouthed and hilarious, and it seems she’s won the hearts of Kiwis all around the country, as the queen of British comedy, Dawn French, is adding even more shows to her New Zealand tour.
Live Nation announced this morning that due to “overwhelming demand” in ticket sales seeing fourshows sell out already, they have added even more shows in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland so everyone can get to experience the beloved Vicar Of Dibley star’s “Dawn French is a Huge Twat” tour.
Tickets for the added Christchurch and Wellington shows are already on sale, with Auckland’s added show - which will take place at The Civic on May 31 - going on sale this Friday, October 27, at 12pm.
It comes after the star admitted the tour name is “unfortunate” yet “horribly accurate”, in a statement issued to the Herald. Revealingexactly what fans are in for at the shows, French said, “There have been far too many times I have made stupid mistakes, or misunderstood something vital, or jumped the gun in a spectacular display of twattery.”

“I thought I might tell some of these buttock-clenching embarrassing stories to give New Zealand audiences a peek behind the scenes of my work life… Roll up! Book early to see the telly vicar lady be a total twat on stage, live in front of your very eyes. And ears.”
French first shot to fame in the ‘80s as part of the ground-breaking comedy duo French & Saunders - with Jennifer Saunders. Entertaining the masses and earning the title of being trailblazers in TV comedy, the pair parted ways in the ‘90s before going on to pursue separate paths.
French went on to star in multiple roles, including the black comedy Murder Most Horrid, often playing both the murderer and murdered in the same episode.
She then starred in the Richard Curtis series The Vicar Of Dibley, which attracted over 12 million viewers to its series finale and is perhaps one of her most well-known roles.
French has solidified herself as a successful comedian and actress on the stage and the big screen, with her upcoming tour the most recent of her career accomplishments.
