Harvey Weinstein's story is set to become an actual horror film, helmed by the director behind the 1976 Stephen King horror flick, Carrie.
In a recent interview with French publication Le Parisien, director Brian De Palma said he is returning to the genre to create a film based on thesexual assault and harassment allegations against the disgraced producer.
"I'm writing a film about this scandal, a project I'm talking about with a French producer," the director said.
"My character won't be named Harvey Weinstein but it will be a horror film, with a sexual aggressor, and it will take place in the film industry."
In a separate interview with AFP, De Palma said: "I know a lot of the people involved. I've heard stories over the years."
He said that directors have to "get actors' confidence and their love" and that "to violate it on any level is just to me the worst thing you can do, just because of your gluttony or your lust".
De Palma is also known for films like Scarface, Dressed to Kill, The Untouchables, and the original Mission: Impossible.
He did not give any details on when the script would be ready.
