The combined wattage of Brangelina drew hundreds of Australian fans fluttering to the bright lights of the Unbroken world premiere for a chance to meet the Hollywood megastars. And they weren't disappointed.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie happily mingled with the crowds on Monday night, who clamoured to get aselfie with one, or both, of the A-listers.
Drivers-by got a shock when they realised the fuss, particularly one surprised woman on a scooter and a cyclist, who pulled out his phone mid-pedal for a pic.
The famous couple jetted into Sydney for the world premiere of Jolie's second directorial effort Unbroken, along with actors Jack O'Connell and Miyavi.
O'Connell stars in the flick as Olympic runner and World War II hero Louis Zamperini, who was taken to a Japanese prisoner of war camp after surviving a plane crash and 47 days adrift on a raft.So why Australia for the world premiere?
Well, Unbroken was actually filmed around Australia, in Queensland and New South Wales.Aside from a family outing to Taronga Zoo in Sydney, Jolie says working with the largely Australian crew was one of her fondest memories.
"We had about 200 extras almost every day and 100 crew and many of the extras would bring in pictures of their grandparents, who had been in the war," she said.
"We all sat together - the Japanese actors, American actors, Australian and British and you saw this next generation of young men becoming friends, talking about working together, creating together.
"And you looked around and thought, 'This is how it should be. We should be able to talk about our past and we should be able to become better men from it and move forward together'."
