Efforts by an American rocker and Auckland Twitter users to rescue a kitten from poverty and possums are continuing.
Last night, Ryan Adams spent much of his evening trying to rescue a black and white cat from Symonds St cemetery in central Auckland. He kept fans updated on Twitter.

But after approaches by an aggressive possum, and an attempted capture, the pair's rescue mission was aborted.
This morning, Mr Isaac tweeted: "For those of you following along at home, our new plan is to return this evening with a humane trap, skilled professionals and some KFC."
Today, one of Adam's crew visited the cat with food.

Ryan Adams is in New Zealand for two shows - one tonight in Auckland and another in Wellington on Thursday.
Adams is a self-proclaimed animal lover and contributed to a compilation album that was sold in 2012 to raise funds for an abandoned kitten that needed surgery.
