One of the many questions that came up during Suicide Squad's theatrical run was what happened to all of Jared Leto's Joker footage.
We may get the answer with an "extended cut" of the movie that will be released by Warner Bros. digitally on Nov. 15 - and on UltraHD Blu-ray, Blu-ray and DVD on Dec. 13 - and include 13 extra minutes of footage.
Warner Bros. released a trailer online to announce the Suicide Squad extended cut, and one of the first notable new scenes included more of Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. Given that Robbie's performance as a former psychiatrist turned girlfriend of the Joker and lethal Task Force X rebel was one of the more popular and least derided moments of the movie, more Harley Quinn shouldn't be a bad thing.

Jared Leto told reporters during publicity interviews for Suicide Squad that Warner Bros. left a good portion of his Joker performance on the cutting room table. It was rumored that after the polarizing critical response to the darkness of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Warner Bros. wanted to lighten things up a bit with Suicide Squad during highly publicized re-shoots. Fans complained that despite Leto's Joker being a huge part of the marketing campaign, he was barely in the movie.
A good chunk of the new scenes could be more Joker/Harley Quinn flashbacks, since most of the new footage we see in the trailer is of Robbie's character wearing glasses as Dr. Harleen Quinzel. That set of scenes showed up in many leaked photos online while Suicide Squad was filming in Toronto, but most, including a scene where Quinzel holds a gun to the Joker's head, never made it to the movie.
According to Box Office Mojo, Suicide Squad has made US$321 million (NZ$447.66 million) in the US and US$418 million (NZ$582.94 million) internationally for a worldwide total of US$739 million (NZ$1030 million).
