Ingredients
| ¾ cup | Sugar |
| 1 | Egg |
| ½ tsp | Vanilla essence/extract |
| 250 g | Dates (Main) |
| 150 g | Butter |
| 2 cups | Desiccated coconut |
| 1 cup | Cornflakes |
| 1 to garnish | Coconut |
Directions
- Place the lightly beaten egg, sugar and vanilla essence into a saucepan and mix well.
- Add the dates and butter and bring to the boil. Simmer for 2 minutes. Cool.
- Add the coconut and crushed cereal. Form into 2.5 cm balls and toss in the extra coconut.
- Store in an airtight container and refrigerate.
A good substitute for cornflakes is musli or similar.
