Ingredients
| 1 cup | Self raising flour |
| ¼ tsp | Salt |
| ½ cup | Brown sugar (Main) |
| 60 g | Butter, cubed |
| 2 Tbsp | Milk |
| 1 | Egg |
Sauce
| 30 g | Butter |
| ½ cup | Brown sugar |
| 1 tsp | Vanilla extract |
| 4 Tbsp | Golden syrup |
| 1 | Lemon, (juice) |
| ¾ cup | Water |
Directions
- Sift the flour and salt into a bowl. Stir in the sugar.
- Using your fingertips, lightly rub in the cubed butter.
- Whisk together the milk and egg, then add, gently mixing until just combined.
- Make the sauce by simmering all the ingredients together in a large saucepan. Drop small spoonfuls of the dumpling mixture into the sauce. Turn the heat to low and cover the saucepan. Cook for 20 minutes then serve hot with cream.
