Recently our Hospobaby has been watching Master Chef Australia and she loves to pretend she’s a contestant. One of the skills she has been asking her dad to help her master is making fresh pasta, so they planned the revival of the pasta machine (that doesn’t get used a lot because we are always short of time) one Sunday after a trip to the supermarket revealed that asparagus was back in season.
Father and daughter discussed the type of pasta they would be cooking, the flavours of the filling and the sauce that would match their creation. Zoya is fond of goat’s cheese; she loves its creamy texture and bold, earthy flavour.
A few years back a wee Hospobaby toddled up to a goat in a paddock in Kumeu and stood staring at it. I walked closer and asked her what she was doing and she rolled her eyes and exclaimed that she was waiting for it to make her some goat’s cheese.

I recommend this recipe for a weekend meal so you can spend your time making the dough and filling the pasta. Little hands enjoy rolling the pasta through the machine and filling the raviolis. Get the recipe
