Australia paceman Peter Siddle is currently enjoying a season on loan at Essex – but perhaps not the contrasting weather to his hometown in Melbourne.
The 33-year-old donned a beanie at the Ageas Bowl yesterday, striking a chord with club cricketers up and down the country.
His sartorial standards may have come up a little short of the required level, but his bowling certainly did not.
Siddle snapped Rilee Rossouw's bat clean in half before drawing his outside edge just two balls later, which was gobbled up by Simon Harmer at second slip.
All in a day's work for the big Aussie paceman.
