Tasman Farms yesterday posted a sharp drop in first-half net profit to $1.7 million. That compares with the $4.6 million figure recorded for the six months to November 2001.
Operating earnings before interest and tax were $3 million, down from $5.7 million, due largely to lower farm gate milk payouts and reduced livestock sales from the company's Australian farms.
