Plans for Dunedin post office to become $20m hotel

Planning is under way for the $20 million redevelopment of the former chief post office in Princes St, Dunedin, to a three-star 170-room hotel.

Te Anau-based hotelier and businessman Geoffrey Thomson said working drawings and resource consent applications could be ready within the next two to three months.

Subject to resource consent, work could start this year and the hotel open by the end of 2005, he said.
