New Zealand businesses are getting into the Christmas spirit, fundraising and donating to various charities this holiday season.

Jetstar has given away more than $20,000 worth of travel after giving each of its more than 400 team members a $50 flight voucher to gift during the holiday season.

It's the third year the airline has run the Gift of Giving campaign, and staff are able to choose who to gift the vouchers to - whether that be a customer, friend or relative.

Jetstar Group chief executive Jayne Hrdlicka said the campaign was a way to give back to New Zealanders.

"The holiday season is a special time for us at Jetstar, while many other businesses are winding down, we're gearing up for our busiest time of the year," Hrdlicka said.

"We're grateful that so many New Zealanders choose to fly with us at Christmas and it's our way of enabling our team members to give something special back to the community."

Telco business Spark is also giving staff and friends the chance to donate to a cause of their choosing, giving away $20 Givealittle vouchers for Christmas.

The vouchers can be used on any Givealittle campaign.

Westfield's annual gold coin donation gift-wrapping service is also underway again, with the proceeds going to the Starship Foundation and the Māia Health Foundation.

Scentre Group New Zealand regional manager, Linda Trainer said the Christmas campaign aimed to inspire shoppers to show goodwill in the season of giving.

"Westfield's wish this Christmas is to help New Zealand children and families in need by customers supporting two very worthy children's charities," Trainer said.

It is the eleventh year Westfield has supported Kiwi charities at Christmas through its donation wrapping.

Air New Zealand has also put its weight behind Starship, with donations from its Summer Wonderland song going to the childrens' hospital.

The song has had well over eight million views globally since it was released, and the airline is planning to release it as a commercial track to raise funds for Starship Foundation.

Air New Zealand's global brand and content marketing general manager Jodi Williams said it was exciting to work with Universal Music to help support a good cause.

"Partnering with Universal to release Summer Wonderland commercially will help spread the word globally about New Zealand as a destination," Williams said.

"We'd love to see the song hit number one so we're calling on fans to get involved, and do their bit for charity at the same time."

"Air New Zealand is a long-term supporter of the Starship Foundation so gifting our share of the proceeds from its sale is the perfect way to get into the spirit of the season and help make Christmas a bit brighter for those children spending their holidays in hospital," he said.
