The New Zealand sharemarket started the week brightly today, driven by good showings from top stocks.
Around 10.10am the benchmark NZX-50 index was up 12.72 points to 3598.59, while the NZSX-All index climbed 3.74 points to 1029.63.
Top stock Telecom gained 6c to 410 on opening, Infratil was up 5c to 415c, Rakon - which releases its annual report on Thursday - was up 5c to 287, and Contact Energy climbed 3c to 715.
Fisher and Paykel Appliances rose 4c to 465, while its Healthcare division rose 1c to 432.
Going the other way were jeweller Michael Hill, down 7c to 755, Toll NZ, off 5c to 335, Tower, losing 3c to 341, carpet company Feltex, losing 2c to 20, and Warehouse, down 1c to 495.
