New Zealand outdoor specialist Kathmandu is opening its first store in London this month.
The privately owned company, which turns over around $100 million a year, is in 33 cities across Australasia but retains its head office in Christchurch.
Marketing manager Mark Williamson said the company, established in Melbourne 16 years ago by Jan Cameron, was ready to expand and London was an obvious market.
There were 15 Kathmandu stores in New Zealand and 18 in Australia, and business had grown steadily.
