Apple Computer's radically designed "lamp stand" iMac computer is about to jump in price by $230 in New Zealand. The rise is in line with similar increases in the United States and Australia and is being blamed on the cost of the LCD displays it uses, and a tripling in computer memory costs.
Paul Johnston, Apple manager at distributor Renaissance, said the price would rise next month, but orders were running two months behind.
