Eldercare changes name to Abano Healthcare

ElderCare New Zealand today said it had changed its name to Abano Healthcare Group Ltd.

The new name signifies the repositioning of the group from a retirement village developer into a "multi-discipline healthcare and medical services provider", the company said.

The ElderCare brand will be kept for its aged care sector.

The name Abano (pronounced ar-BAR-no) originates from Abano Terme, a town in Veneto, Italy, famous for the therapeutic properties of its water.
