DB Group Limited will rename itself DB Breweries when it amalgamates with its brewing subsidiary on April 1.
The amalgamation would be the final step in the restructuring process begun in 1999, and provide further overhead cost savings, the company said in a statement today.
Following the sale of Corbans Wines Limitedand NZ Liquor Limited, and the closure of Allied Liquor Merchants Limited, DB Group was no longer a group of companies. The focus had moved instead to DB Breweries Limited, and its franchising operation of Liquorland.
DB Breweries had been associated with the brewing, marketing and distribution of beer since 1929, when Dominion Breweries Limited began production at the present site in Otahuhu, Auckland.
DB shares closed on Friday at $6.11, compared with a year high of $6.55 and a low of $4.70.
