New Zealanders have jumped at the opportunity to get to Bali and travel to the Indonesian resort island increased 38 per cent this winter.
Air New Zealand will fly to Bali again next winter to meet strong demand.
The airline will use a Boeing 767-300 to operate twice-weekly nonstop Auckland-Denpasar services from June 1 to October 15 next year, three weeks longer than this year's season.
Fares on sale from yesterday started from $599
one-way for a basic economy fare. The announcement comes in response to high passenger numbers for the 2012 season, particularly during the school holidays, and clear demand for a second season, says the airline's group general manager Australasia, Bruce Parton.
He says New Zealanders have jumped at the opportunity to get to Bali and figures for this winter show a 38 per cent increase in travel to the island compared with the 2011 winter.
The airline expects strong demand for seats. More than a third of the seats to Bali this year sold within a week.
