Chewing gum kit to kill bad breath

A New Zealand company is set to release a bacteria-impregnated chewing gum designed for people suffering from chronic bad breath.

Blis Technologies chief executive Kelvin Moffatt said the "fresh breath kit" would relieve the symptoms of more than 85 per cent of sufferers.

The kit will come with eight doses of high-strength mouthwash, a tongue cleaner and 80 pieces of peppermint-flavoured chewing gum containing Streptococcus salivarius K12, a naturally occurring strain of bacteria.

Mr Moffatt said studies showed that people with chronic bad breath typically either lacked or had very low levels of the bacteria.
