Air New Zealand has sold Mount Cook Airport to local company Tourism Milford.
Tourism Milford has interests in several tourism businesses in the region, including the Hermitage Mount Cook, the Milford and Routeburn guided walks, and the Coronet, Remarkables and Mt Hutt ski fields. The purchase price was not disclosed.
Tourism Milfordrecently bought the three ski fields from Air New Zealand.
The airline has not operated regular scheduled services to Mount Cook since February of this year.
The airport is used by charter operators and scenic flight operator Mount Cook Ski Plane service.
