DHL Worldwide Express will move to a new $8 million complex at Auckland International Airport next year.
Less than a month ago, the airport revealed firm commitments to a $6 million shopping centre and $4 million in offices and warehousing.
DHL's new buildings will be completed in two stages on
a 1.65ha site.
Announcing the move yesterday, airport managing director John Goulter said the new building would be on the corner of Hape Drive and Laurence Stevens Drive at the eastern end of the airport.
That would give DHL direct access to the apron and taxiway system.
Construction involves building a two-level, 2000 sq m office block, followed by a 2500 sq m warehouse.
An aircraft apron area will be built adjacent to the warehouse, enabling DHL's excess freight aircraft to taxi within 15m of the warehouse.
Mr Goulter said the premises would be finished by April next year.
