Two British friends who had the holiday of a lifetime in New Zealand and Australia, have nothing to remember it by thanks to thieves who broke into their campervan in Auckland.
Adam Turner and Martin Phelpstead are back in the UK without their passports, cameras, camera discs and videos of
skydiving, deep sea diving and white water rafting all of which were stolen on the very last day of their holiday.
The thieves even stole their dirty washing, leaving them with just the clothes they were standing in for their flight home the next day.
"We are devastated that we have absolutely nothing to show for our holiday," says Adam. "We had a once in a lifetime holiday ... which we saved up for last year. On the last day of the holiday in Auckland, our camper van got broken into and everything was stolen."
The pair say their backpacks were dark green and police have told them they may be discarded on the side of the road, so they contacted The Aucklander in the hope someone sees them. They would have contained their flight tickets along with their photos, videos and diaries. As their cameras were stolen there are no pictures of them available, apart from the grainy one shown taken by a friend before they left England.
