Boaties: `there's a place for us'

The carpark at Clearwater Cove has been turned into a pay and display area for parking trailers while other spaces remain free for cars. Patrons are being charged $5 a day to park their trailers on weekends and public holidays. Waitakere City Council, which manages the car and boat trailer park, has adopted the measures in response to concerns from local residents over trailer parking.
The trailer park enables boat owners to leave cars and trailers in a secure environment while they are on the water.
Tickets are dispensed from the on-site pay and display machine.
The carpark continues to be available, free, as a park and ride facility during the week.
