Hallelujah aptly describes how Isolde Grunwald feels about a capella gospel group
Jubilation's first album.
"We're so pleased to be releasing our long-awaited album. I'm so glad that we no longer have to disappoint our fans who have been requesting a CD for ages.
"It's been a long journey to get to this
place. We have taken our time specifically to make sure that what we put out not only stacked up in terms of quality but also longevity.''
Shout & Never Get Tired is a milestone in the group's 10-year history, which they are
taking - live - to audiences with their Four Corners tour. Known for its broad range, the
show will include original songs such as Rick Bryant's Learn To Forgive and Jean McAllister's First To Come Home among classics from Tom Waits, Isaac Hayes and Don McGlashan. Also on the playlist are songs from the 1840s and this century.
Besides the music, Grunwald, who is one of the choir's five conductors, really enjoys
Jubilation's camaraderie.
"They're a great bunch of people. We have a great deal of fun and laughter. I don't see my friends as consistently as I do the choir members because we're dedicated to meeting once a week.''
The chorister, from Herne Bay, says she also loves that everyone is on the same level,
even though they're known for being a star-studded super group.
"That's the wonderful thing and I think that's why people like Jennifer Ward-Lealand,
Jackie Clarke and Amanda Billing like being part of it.''
