Is there anything more Kiwi than Wal and Dog of Footrot Flats fame?
Twenty-five years after it first hit cinema screens in New Zealand, Footrot Flats - A Dog's Tale is back and re-packaged in a digitally remastered anniversary edition.
And it has lost little of its original magic.
All the big names are there, with John Clarke (voicing Wal), Peter Rowley (Dog), Rawiri Paratene (Rangi) and Billy T. James (Pawai) telling the story, and Kiwi favourite Dave Dobbyn providing a great soundtrack.
A Dog's Tale is full of high adventure. The All Blacks' selectors are headed for Raupo to watch the big game on Saturday.
If Wal and his mates are going to overcome all these obstacles and get to the rugby on time, they will have to use their best Kiwi ingenuity.
Based on Murray Ball's beloved cartoon strip, Footrot Flats - A Dog's Tale captures the essence of being a Kiwi and has somehow managed to survive its 25-year journey through time in great shape.
