NFL convert Jarryd Hayne made a big impression in his first appearance for the 49ers in their pre-season hitout against Houston today.
With just his second touch of the match Hayne, playing as a running back, pierced the defence with a blistering 53-yard run.
"One of the best rugby players in Australia getting his first football action and looking good," one commentator said.
"He didn't have to run through a scrum on that play," a second commentator added.
Hayne has been used as the main running back for the 49ers in the first half of action, gaining a second first down on a crucial third down play.
He has also played punt returner on one play, taking the ball back for 11 yards.
It's been almost twelve months since Jarryd Hayne announced his departure from the NRL, and began his quest to play in the NFL.
