Sir John Kirwan's future as coach of the Blues is in doubt.
According to RadioSport, the Blues are sounding out Tasman ITM Cup coach Kieran Keane to take over the reins.
It follows a dismal run of results for the franchise which has seen a winning record of 37 per cent since Kirwan took over in 2013.
The Blues have lost three games to start this season and sit at the bottom of the New Zealand Conference.
A reliable source has revealed to RadioSport the Blues have been in touch with Keane, who has an out clause in his Tasman contract if he's offered a Super Rugby job.

It's also understood that Keane is being chased by two other Super Rugby franchises.
Keane's agent would not confirm or deny the rumours.
