A child was pulled unconscious from a swimming pool in Auckland this morning.
The girl, aged two, was spotted in the water by a member of the public at the Toia - Otahuhu Pool and Leisure Centre.
Lifeguards gave the child CPR while an ambulance arrived.
She was later taken to hospital where she remains in a stable condition.
Management at the facility are now completing a full incident report and review.
"Our thoughts are with the child and her family. We wish her a full recovery. We understand she remains in a stable condition," said Auckland Council's Head of Active Recreation Rob McGee.
"I'd also like to commend the quick actions of the member of the public and lifeguards."
