Four fire crews were called out to a South Dunedin house fire which was well ablaze.
One person sustained minor injuries and St John paramedics were also in attendance.
A Fire Service spokesman said four crews and an area commander were at the blaze in Oxford St.
Firefighters received the first call about the fire at 4.42pm and the first unit arrived at the scene about eight minutes later.

"The house was well ablaze when we showed up,'' he said.
The Fire Service have cordoned off nearly 10 houses in the area.
