Basketball star Corey Anthony Webster has had two assault charges added to the one he already faces.
He appeared in the North Shore District Court today and was remanded on bail to reappear on Thursday.
The 28-year-old Tall Black was arrested at a Takapuna nightspot last month and charged with assaulting Joungmin Namkung, previously reported as Tamehana Maru.
Charges of assault and of assault with intent to injure were added this morning.
Webster appeared before a registrar, supported by his girlfriend.
He has earlier told the Herald on Sunday he would "vigorously" defend the original charge of assault.
"It was quite frustrating having to sit on the sidelines on Friday as I couldn't help he team, and I had to support them from the sidelines.
"The club has supported me 100 per cent and I am grateful for that but I can't say anything much more about the situation at the moment."
Webster was last week sidelined indefinitely by the Breakers for potentially the remainder of the Australian NBL season due to injuries.
