A cyclist has been taken to hospital in a serious condition following a crash in Invercargill early this evening.
The cyclist - whose gender is not yet known - collided with a car at the intersection of Dalrymple and Ness streets in Appleby.
Emergency services were called to the scene at 5pm.
Police said the cyclist suffered serious injuries in the crash and has been taken to hospital for treatment.
Authorities are investigating the accident and the circumstances leading up to it.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact them immediately.
