A Kiwi rugby fan died after falling ill on his way to the All Blacks' semifinal match.
It is understood the man in his 60s, from Manawatu, collapsed on a tour bus operated by Williment Sports Travel just before arriving at Twickenham Stadium in London yesterday morning. The company has refused to comment.
The man had a "turn" on the bus before arriving for the game, a member of the tour group said.
A nurse was on board and called an ambulance while the 40 tour members were taken to the match in smaller buses, he said.
About 15 minutes into the match, the tour members received a text saying the man had died.
A memorial service was held by the tour company for the man, who is understood to be an avid rugby fan who has attended a number of sports tours with the company.
During the service, a message from his sister was read out, stating: "If he was to go, there was no better way than on a rugby tour," the source said.
It is understood former All Black Dave Loveridge was guiding the tour group.
