Why do inconsiderate shoppers select an item then change their mind later on in the supermarket and are too lazy to take the item back to where it came from. It is even more inconsiderate when the item is from the frozen section or the deli.

I often walk along the walkway beside the rail track from Orakei to Meadowbank with my grandson. I walk and Jono, who is only 2, runs. He stops and waves to the train drivers as though his life depends on it and is often rewarded with a toot from the train's whistle. To those drivers I say thanks, you cannot begin to imagine the joy and excitement this brings him.

Why on earth did the designers of the new Te Atatu Library build it on the footpath when they had plenty of room on the other side of the site? The foot path is dangerously narrow and will probably need a rail to stop pedestrians stepping into the road.

There are such nice people in Auckland. On Friday evening I was collecting takeaway food, but my card wouldn't work. A lovely man came over and said "take my card to pay for this lady's order". I tried to protest, but he said "don't be embarrassed, good things happen to nice people". As it turned out his card wouldn't work either, so it must have been the machine. So, I just want to thank the lovely man who did such a kind thing for me. It made my weekend.

All trucks and articulated vehicles should be banned from the right lane of motorways. They are, first, a hazard as they run the risk of jack-knifing or just not stopping in time after getting up to maximum speed; and, secondly, they hold up traffic. When they do eventually slow down they simply cannot take off again quickly, causing others to lag or change lanes unnecessarily. The ripple effect causes traffic jams.

On Saturday afternoon my friend and I caught the 277 bus from the city home for the first time without my parents. When I got home, I noticed my wallet was missing. Thank you to the person who handed it to the driver and the driver for taking care of it. Thank you very much!
